That is very cool.

I enjoyed this entry by Nina Gerstenberger for the footage of a modern day Mod get together. I don't need much of an excuse to watch footage (old or new) of Mods.

Okay, the ending was obvious with hindsight, but it really made it.

Something I've always wondered: there are "ushers" on British trains?

I played this on the jukebox at the bar one night. Some guy yelled, "Who played this?" I said, "I played this!!" He said, "I knew there was another Quadrophenia fan out there somewhere!" I said, "Hell yeah!" And he bought me a beer.

Well, it's time to come clean. I wasn't a fan of Quadrophenia. I was a fan of the Greatest Hits. I'm sorry, happy drunk Who fan.

Also, I enjoyed this video.

Pepsi Who?

Quadrophenia is such a great period piece. As I read in a critique once, the casting of Phil Daniels was pretty much perfect.

Came into it ready to hate on overproduced, greenscreen "effects studio demo reel" wankery.

Was instead amazed by a video that was in the spirit of the times when the song was released, respectful of the music, and representative of the band and their fans. Excellent. Made my afternoon.

Dear Pete and Roger,

This needs no improvement.

No, but there are in British cinemas (or used to be - I wouldn't know; I haven't been in a cinema in a British cinema in about fifteen years). The verse refers to the popular teenage pastime of filthing it up in the back seats of the local Odeon.

"In a cinema in a British cinema"? My god, that's so meta.

Why should I care if I have to cut my hair? It's either go with the fashion, or be outcast.

To be honest, I wasn't sure where the winning video was going once he entered the studio but I got it eventually. Bravo!

Good enough pretext to listen to this song a few times. Powerful stuff. If you need that little push to go over the cliff, and everything is already turned to 11, add horns.

I'm disappointed that these videos aren't all 5:15 long.
But that winner rocked.

The winner is outstanding, and many of the others are also fabulous.

I went thru a phase of listening to a lot of Quadrophenia years ago. "5:15" still rules.
