Have you tried listening to dubstep while the page is loading?

I'll use that rainbow one as background next time I need to build a webpage to give someone a seizure.

This is how it ends, isn't it? Watch long enough, and you will eventually hear a noise at the GIF, as if some immense slippery body were lumbering against it, straining to press through the glitch and enter our world.

I wonder if people who have epilepsy are affected by these.

Hrm, I didn't think of that. Mods can feel free to put up a warning or something.

The melting faces type glitches are the ones that I find most interesting, though I couldn't say why exactly. Seems like you could easily slap a 'ZALGO' caption on them and it wouldn't look out of place.

I used to want to be dumped in the woods when I die so that my body goes back to nature, but now I'm thinking that when I'm done I want a bunch of Ghanaian boys to melt me down in an acid bath and burn my hulk to extract my metals.

Oh my yes. I was struck by that exact one as well. The image with the woman in front of the "MILKA DAY" background in particular makes me want to hide.

First of all, I love this.

Secondly, this reminds me of what it was like back in the late 90s trying to read Wired Magazine print pages.

I remember when I first got my NES way back in the day, a few friends lent me games. One cousin lent me Metroid, which I had heard quite a lot about. I put it in and started it, but it was completely glitched out. Since I didn't know any better, I thought the game was supposed to be like that, all mysterious symbols and incomprehensible shapes moving in strange ways. My mind was blown, the game was completely alien and strange and artful. After an hour or so I made it through the first two rooms like this.

Yeah, there's a guy who posts to this photosharing site that uses text versions of these that even work as URLs, in that weird way that computers will digest any old shit.

Most of his photos are examples of graffiti that include URLs back to the photos.

Yeah, I *know*.

Anyway, stuff like this exists for the pure wankery. This isn't a judgement so much as an observation.
