Neat. Would be cooler if there was a picture of the "inspired by" character too, though.

Would that I could turn back time (thanks for the link, Bwithh) to youthful aspirations made accessible with today's technology.

Less cosplay than I was expecting.

I would never thought that Coach from L4D2 was an inspiration for fashion. Mostly unrelated: I just realized that the guy who played Cutty from The Wire is the voice of Coach.

I've only gone back a few pages. Is there a Tetsuya Nomura-designed character referenced with an outfit made entirely of belts?

Inspired by Bayonetta: everything I'm wearing is wigs!

Oh, -color- inspiration. I was expecting more actual game character highlights. Like some with boxy shirts (square shoulder pads perhaps), chunky patterns, willowy and flowing silhouettes...more layers, more interesting, more.....avant-garde.

Or at least cute hipster with stripey scarves and brighter colors and more themed jewelry. I dunno....this is kinda blah.

Inspired by Hanar: I chose to do a pink high-low dress because I believe it reflects their height and tentacles in a stylish way, plus it’s super trendy.

I just like that sentence.

How are clothes inspired by video games different from what everyone wears every day?

I agree with DisreputableDog, they haven't gone far enough.

The Majora's Mask one is really good.

Greg Nog - the tool the blogger is using is a website called Polyvore. It's basically a shopping website where you can make collages of clothing you like.

The source material is probably why this is kind of bland. All the items are basically mass market chain-store pieces and the blogger went for "cohesive" as a design choice. "Cohesive mass-market" is what most people wear all the time.

Although now I kind of randomly want to go on Polyvore and see what the most bizarre outfits I can create are. Can even the Gap become avant-garde if your sense of composition and unity are suppressed?

I love it. I would never cosplay, for a million, zillion reasons, but wearing an outfit "in the spirit of" favorite video game character du jour, why, I would totally do it, and it would by my little awesome secret while I was out amongst all of the hipsters.

Also maybe it gives me an excuse to buy these shoes that I am completely obsessed with.

One of the weirdest things about playing the Assassin's Creed games is the ability to customize your clothing. Like, I was going to kill that guard and slip into the palace but I totally got distracted by the fact that the tailor outside was selling the new Tuscan Ochres.

Was really hoping there'd be a MJOLNIR-inspired ensemble...

And yes, I've seen the suit the guy in Philly made.

I sort of do this. I have a pair of ankle boots that are my sekrit Spike Spiegel cosplay boots.
