Nice concert, crap song. I would have given anything to hear Sean, Yoko, Moby and Rufus Wainwright singing "Across the Universe" which might be my fave Lennon song of all time. But this concert was never televised in the SF Bay Area and now STP's cover of "Revolution" is being flogged on alternative rock radio in the Bay Area. And it sucks, IMO. Damn.

agreed. blasphemy. what has STP ever done that even remotely resembles anything revolutionary? nothing.

Funny, most people would have given anything *not* to hear Yoko sing.

Oh, there's just got to be an MP3 of this somewhere. Or maybe there's a cd release in the works? I'm a sucker for charity cds. I bought the Diana one for the U2 and Neil Finn songs.

i am a bit cross about the timing of this concert.
rufus was supposed to be in atlanta that night, opening for tori amos at the fox theatre. none of us were told and only figured it out when pinch-hitter david ryan harris of the brand new immortals wandered out on stage to do a five song warmup.

tori was excellent. rufus and tori on the same night would have been life-changing.

I saw Spacey on the Leno show last week, and they showed a clip of him singing "Mind Games." He confessed that he'd never heard of the song until band-leader-for-the-night Dave Stewart suggested it. Spacey said he learned the song, and has since forgotten it already. If he looked impassioned and sincere, like he was singing an old Lennon favorite of his, remember he's a two-time Oscar winner.

I saw the Across the Universe performance. It was Rufus Wainright, Moby and Sean Lennon. It was really good, but I can't figure out why Moby was there. Rufus sang great, Sean sang great, Moby can't sing. Thankfully he never sang a lead. Waht is also strange is that I have heard that Rufus has sucked. His Sessions at West 54th was so bad they couldn't air it. But he was really good here.

Did Roger Whittaker appear to sing his version of Imagine? That would've been awesome.

it was a really, really nice cover. i got all choked up and shit when sean sang.

Yeah, I usually get chocked up when Sean sings, but it's because he can't.

That boy needs to lay off it a bit. I saw him do some solo stuff at a Cibo Matto show - it was horrible!!!! Just because you're some celebrity kid doesn't mean you're as tallented as your pops.

qrysdonnel: at least you were able to see cibo matto.

Nobody can be as talented as Sean's "pops", QrysDonnell. Give the kid a break is what I say
