Imagining David Simon's anguished response as the point of the Wire whizzes past everyone's head is the best part.

"No one likes our season, that's what!

I do. I think season two was vital into the blossoming of the lotus, the metaplots, and expanding the main theme -that being, pandemic institutional dysfunction.

We watched as the white working class was slowly dismantled by opportunists, corruption, and petty governmental interference, and it descended into the same crime we saw in season 1. The towers in the 212 were taken down, just as the docks were, and it just leaves crime as the only option in its wake. Season 2 had to exist to make white viewers see how crime is a symptom of a problem, and it isn't confined to the ghetto... Read: black people.

It's no coincidence that season 3 begins with the classic scene where Stringer is leading the dealers via parliamentary procedure. Lookit! Black criminals can do the "civilized" thing just as easily.

But that was the looking glass. That season began the political scene, and suddenly we saw that the only difference between the criminals, the suits, and the politicians was their attire and demographic.

"Does the chair realize we gonna look like punk ass bitches?"

With that, Pootie exposed the detachment and seeming incompetance of leadership throughout, and reminded us that without drastic change, all across the board, we're all just looking like a bunch of punk ass bitches...

In Lego form.

Yes, I'm kinda stoned, why do you ask?

Have you listened to any of the commentaries? Dude is one gloomy motherfucker. Probably on balance right about everything though...

He's gloomy, but he is right to be that way. He sees what's going on more clearly than most, which is almost always depressing.

Thoughts:

1. I love the name of David Simon's blog (linked by ChuraChura above).
2. I absolutely cannot believe that David Simon is a double spacer.
3. Season 2 is my favorite. I especially like the season closer set to Steve Earl.

Wee-bey and Bunk are excellent here, as is Omar's smooth-brick powerslide behind the car. And Clay Davis...is Clay Davis.

I see what you did there. WMD.

Really though, can anyone else not hear that word without hearing it in that voice?

Was that a Lego freinds house? Nice.

I also admired the use of the werewolf and indiana jones minifig peices. They did great on Lance Reddick's face lines too.

That video reminded me just how little I remembered about the newspaper plots of The Wire's last season.

To hell with that, Season Two is my favorite!

I really appreciated the attention to detail. Omar sliding under the car, the aquariums, and all the other things mentioned here. The Game of Thrones and Treme shout-outs were cute, too.

"I absolutely cannot believe that David Simon is a double spacer."

This fact absolutely delights me. David Simon is not a typesetter. Those double spaces signal gravitas to me.

The link doesn't work. Is there a live link? Googling isn't finding me one.

The link is working for me. It's also posted at Yahoo! Screen. The video doesn't load for me but maybe it will work for you.

I can't believe there are people who like season 2, let alone that it's some people's favorite. Mind-boggling.

Are there people who like season 5? Is that anyone's favorite?

Of course not. Don't be silly.
