Mean tw*ts

In March Jimmy Kimmel aired footage of celebrities reading tweets about themselves [Previously]. The next instalment is ready for your amusement.

Interestingly, in recent months, the whole interaction between celebrities and their "fans" on Twitter has entered the public consciousness much more - a little guide to engaging celebs, , questions on whether celebrities are making themselves too accessible, a high profile jailing in the UK of a particularly obnoxious troll and the rise of the high profile "Twitter Quitter" like Charlie Sheen, nearly quitter like comedians Matt Lucas, serial nearly quitter like Stephen Fry, temporary quitters like British Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, account switchers like Alec Baldwin and perhaps the landmark case: the forced handover of Ashton Kutcher's account to Management.

Except for the gray hair, Matt LeBlanc looks *exactly* as old as he ever did (i.e. 12).

Aw, Perry looked actually hurt.

Won't someone please think of the plight of our nation's celebrities?

Yeah, I was expecting this to be a little more authentic. Having celebrities play themselves reading comments on the Internet is funny, but doesn't cause as much reflection as Jimmy Kimmel (who should talk) pretends to want.

I know Danny McBride was joking there at the end, but if celebrities think of us as "nobodies" then why should we think of them as "just human"?

I mean, whatever, I wouldn't write a mean tweet to anyone because I am nice generally, but clearly some celebrities do set themselves apart.

I thought it was funny. Partly because some of the tweets were actually pretty funny themselves.

Other then that, though Jimmy Kimmel has always annoyed me.

I've never seen Nick Offerman out of character before. Or chopping wood. New crush, thanks!

Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson) from Parks & Recreation Reads Tweets From Young Female Celebrities Part 2

Not available in my country. F you, internet.

He's got at least one (and I think several) YT videos set in his real-life woodworking shop. He makes nice stuff.

That reminds me. Last night I dreamed that I'd come up with a killer tumblr idea: lronswanson.tumblr.com. Scientology according to Swanson. Dream-me thought I was hilarious.

It took me a minute to recognize the connection that "Iron Swanson" would have to scientology. Facepalm.

I'm not going to link to it, and perhaps I saw it on Metafilter, but the other day I saw a picture of a young Nick Offerman with a very realistic-looking three-foot fake cock coming out of his pants.

True story.

I love Katy Perry. I love the hell out of her. And for this, I love her just a little bit more.

Ok, yeah, it was Metafilter. Here's the thread with the link. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I was wondering why someone's affinity for torturing their pale male offspring with a hot iron was relevant.

I do not understand overrated. If you like, I can search the web for a picture of a stallion.

It's interesting how different celebs react to social media, some people just hand stuff over to staff but some get really into it which is interesting from a fandom POV, and people I would consider celebrities ( children's SF authors from the 80s) are totally on twitter and will talk to you which is awesome.

That might be more a kidlit thing than anything else, TW. Eeeveryone in the kidlit community is on twitter.

(and it is wonderful)

Plus Clark Gregg mentions Pheels on Twitter so all bets are off.
