There are certain of these sculptures (because that's really what they are--kinetic sculptures where the impetus for movement has refined the need for any physical manifestation right out of the work) that seem to intimate what it must be like to be mentally unbalanced.

Also: this, which is a kind of parable seeking a subject.

Really really really wish we had inline images again. (Great find.)

Long time fan of davidope; suprised he's never been here before.

I wanted to like the hexagons more than I was, but they didn't resolve properly. They kept jumping up and down big steps, so I was watching them and they suddenly turned into cubes, and I was like, ong, what just happened, have these things been turning into cubes all along and I just never noticed, or what, no wait these are hexagons. Now I know that a hexagon looks like a cube if you stare at it long enough and I am going to finish my coffee, because, you know, work.

Lovely find. Thank you griphus.

Not sure but some of these might need a seizure warning?

You're probably right. Which is funny because this exchange happened the last time I posted an animated GIF tumblr. Informing mods.

These are wonderful- beautiful and very clever. I'd love to know how he builds them, especially the stripy ones.

re:seizures, he puts up an epilepsy warning on his video so yeah, warranted I think.

I just hope he doesn't accidentally produce a basilisk...

dvdp was a secondary link on this post last September. Not that I want to take credit for discovering it, BUT I DO.

Nooooo...

I screwed up the tags when I posted this initially and never checked the corrected ones.

Yep, I hit this following juv3nal cuz he puts them up places I look occasionally. I love it because it makes me want to wear clown shoes and walk with a big, long, slouching stride into my computer screen.

Seconding mr.div. A little more complexity, plus lens flare. Well, he can be forgiven for that.

Tumblrs with good content must be supported! They are our only hope!
posted by oneswellfoop at 2:26 PM on August 1, 2012

Plus some of the other stuff he posts is also fabulous. Who knew?
