"Dedo Risto's gaidi start from E350 or US500 without the head. A small goathead like this one is an extra E150 or US200. He is well known for making excellent instruments, properly tuned and adjusted for beginners so they don't have any trouble - which is very hard to find in a gaida."

Small goathead is US200... same as in town.

i'm not judging, but there are easier ways to be hugged by a goat

To parrot what my husband just said, "I could have gone my whole life without knowing that existed, and it would have been perfectly fine."

There's a guy in Sydney who makes these: First get a goat (self-link, from a land before youtube!). Keep watching for some awesome Australian bagpipes.

I have a great collection of kazoos made from songbirds.

Don't worry, I only play them while banging on my cat bongos.

Macedonian bagpipes on the loudest available speaker setting used to be how I dealt with un-wanted loud music from neighbors. 1. Worked in sound 15 minutes, 2. I did not have to call the police. 3. Usually it failed to wake up my son.

That goat seemed really into the music. That's what it looked like. A goat jamming. Instead of a hollowed out goat corpse, humiliated.

I like it because it looks like he's blowing into a goat's ass.

You seem to be having some trouble with comparative anatomy.

The linked Što mogu gajde ("what bagpipes can do") video also has some very nice playing, although with less head.

Reminds me of the charango, an Andean ukelele-like instrument that is traditionally made with the body of an armadillo. I have one around somewhere that has the head attached for decoration...

Bagpipes, in any way, shape, or form, are pretty dang cool.

If only this could mimic the sounds of real goats it could be an asset for sneaky mountain goat hunters.

Holy hell. My one cat utterly hated the sound of these goatpipes. I tested this out three times, and each time got the bug-eyed wtf!!?? stares at my laptop. Then again this same cat is terrified at the mere sight of my banjo. I believe she must be a little tame in her musical tastes.
