I wanted to like that more than I did. The music kind of bugged me. Also people from Afghanistan aren't Arabs, which might have been a point they made that I missed.

That people who are racist often lump individuals into broad categories... arab, asian, muslim etc. These categorisations are often totally incorrect - based on total ignorance of cultures, religions etc. To a racist, the fact that this person is from Afganistan is probably totally irrelevant. He has darker skin... or darker hair... or "looks arabic" and therefor is an arab.

Yes, I know that. I just thought they might have made the point in the film, because I'm sure a lot of people watching don't realize this, just like the million people who think Pakistan is "Middle East."

Right, but you don't even need to be a racist asswipe to think people from Afghanistan are Arab or Pakistanis are from the Middle East. The misinformation is pretty rampant.

A great film, and unusually for videos posted on Metafilter, it was filmed right (well, diagonally) across the street from my house.
