A Good Man Is Hard To Find, one of the best short stories of the mid-20th century, read by the author Flannery O'Connor in 1959 at Vanderbilt University. You can read along with the text here.

Be aware that this story contains the n-word, depicts violence, and ends badly for the characters in it. All in a day's work for Georgia's most religious fiction author ever.
