I can't read the text, and zooming in just makes it blurry. Clicking on the image and reading it on a new page makes it worse, not better... Firefox refuses to zoom even as far as the original page.

Click on the image to load the new page, then click on it again to see it full-size. Tumblr's image handling is weird sometimes.

I completely do not understand this one.

Thorzdad: That's Thor Odinson, who (in the Marvel continuity, at least) is, depending on who you ask and when, either definitely a god, definitely an alien, or something in between.

The reference is a little opaque without this scene for reference.

Ah. Serves me right for giving a damn about comic-book movies.

I think that this a great idea but not done terribly well yet. HOWEVER, I'm seeing real glimpses of how good this will be. Bookmarked to check back on.

I second Katemonkey's Oh Steve! This is really, really lovely.

A. this is adorable.

B. As someone with a slightly vested interest in the current version of Captain America cough and who may or may not have lost 25 pounds in order to re-create his officer uniform lets just say I have a lot of OPINIONS about Steve's reaction to the 21st century and no one ever mentions the obvious thing.

Food.

You've got 80 years of food science during it's biggest and most experimental phase. A burger from 1941 is not going to taste like a burger from 2012, even the bread will be different (sweeter, most likely) so I think Steve spends a lot of time in Williamburg cause it's the only place he can get the grass-fed, no-hormone no-corn syrup just one frikken pickle okay meals that reasonably approximate what food is supposed to taste like.

Now I understand what people mean with adorkable.

My One True Version of Captain America is still the Mark Gruenwald version, the one who had gone through all the soul searching and coming to grips with America, who still held to his Rooseveltian/New Deals ideals yet who was comfortable with modern life as well, to the point where he had his own BBS paid for by the half century or so of back pay he was owned by the mid-eighties...

I would be okay if Winter Solider had a 25 min trying to figure out a self-service-check out lane bit.

The art is interesting. Every once in a while it catches early Doonesbury almost exactly.

And so, today was saved by awesome little comics about my favorite (fictional) military hero, Steve Rogers. High five to this FPP, I said! But then it was ruined by the realization that I was totally gonna have to abandon any and all Christmas wrapping and cleaning plans I had because I have to read The Whelk's fanfic. Great, there goes my fucking day...

Nevermind, the thing has a 'Granny Moonshine Saves Everything' and "Accidentally High' tag. THE DAY IS SAVED!

Steve Rogers would never say "fuck."

Not in front of other people but, c'mon, the guy was backstage for a travelling showgirl troupe, he knows the words, he just chooses not to use them. Becauses that's not nice.

I think who only uses hell and damn and only when in combat, before the ice, and after the ice he maintains the "when in combat" rule but he has to step up his cussing game, because hell and damn don't have much shock value anymore.

no i don't think about steve rogers a lot don't look at me that way gosh

You know in the process of finding all the elements needed for the Field Officer Uniform* I found that my vocabulary had changed and my posture was straighter. I used the word "golly" unprompted and unironically. I started to say "ma'am" totally thinking about it.

it was strange.

*Not a lot of 44L guys in 1942 apparently, although it was still cheaper to find actual surplus then to get stuff made.

*totally without thinking about it

One of the great things about Steve Rogers is that despite his gifts, he's not an egomaniac.

He is worthy to pick up Thor's Hammer, but he doesn't, because that would be wrong.

AH, new one up.

And now I'm wondering if there is a canon answer for which Art School Steve attended...(I assumed a draughtsman education myself)
