Unless there's another starwars gangsta rap it's a double post.

Oh come on, don't mean mean! It's a yearly tradition, this post!

I hate it when people mean mean. ;)

Sorry, jragon. I didn't mean to mean mean, I meant to be mean. You know what I mean man, so stop being so mean.

It is a classic piece of flash, though swift.

yeah i likes it. in fact, i even just sent it a week ago to some deprived soul who doesn't live the joy of blogging, and so hadn't seen it yet. <-- whoa, was that a sentence? you know what i meant...

MeFa? Mefa no lika MeFa. Darn Star Wars.

I've seen it before, but not in a while and frankly I enjoyed watching it again. Not the most MeFi-shakingly-relevant front page post ever, but still appreciated here, swift.

Swift, obviously the problem is not that this is a double post, but that you failed to post it in the form of an equation.

Microsith: That is damn funny.

swift: you once again make clear just how gravely you misunderstand both metafilter's purpose and etiquette. also, i can't believe that you, of all people, would fail to see how inappropriate this post is in light of the tragic events of september 11th. and lastly, don't you think that a certain rival weblog (not linked to for obvious reasons) might have deserved a heads-up w/r/t microsith before it was posted here? (and speaking of that certain rival weblog, don't think that your recent ananova post has gone unnoticed. steps will be taken to shorten your leash, young man.)

jeffvc: your simpering, pansy-assed 'me too' comment exposes you as the fos (friend of swift) you so clearly are. there's no need to congratulate this flame-baiting buffoon for his antics. this flash piece is funny; this flash piece is old. it therefore goes without saying that it must have been posted here before. swift is no newbie posting with impunity; this post is a threat to the very foundation of mefi. if i had my way, swift and all of his friends (with their inside jokes and grossly inappropriate behavior) would be banned for life. banned for life, i tell you!

gassire: Could you repeat that please? I'm not sure I understood what you were saying. Are you saying that there are other weblogs other than mefi? Are you absolutely certain? If I had only known.

And simpering? FOS? What the hell are you talking about? I clearly repremanded swift for his failure to format his post as per mefi standards. In fact, I propose that he be paddled for this breech of etiquette. when he shows up at the NYC gettogether. Unfortunately, I won't be there to share in the festivities.

I personally believe that it is people like you and posts like this that are lowering the quality of conversation on mefi.

Oh, and swift, next time Carrie Fischer shows up on mefi, you'll live to regret it.

Oh, wait, you mean that was sarcasm? OH! Gassy is sassy.

here i am logging in, as i have been referenced as a fos. i must insist that i don't know the guy, i certainly don't live with him in a very messy apartment in brooklyn, and i never ever read metafilter from work.

gassire is nuts in addition to being sassy. to insist otherwise is futile.

i'm a cosmo guy, so i'm able to admit when i've been bested. and...well...making my words come out of c3po's mouth was...well...a stroke of absolute genius. i have no comeback for that, the ultimate insult. swift cleverly skewered both my wordiness and my righteous indignation, making me feel like...well...a miguel cardoso wannabe.

and speaking of that cigar-wielding portuguese potentate, my greatest fear is that all of this nonsense is going to find its way into metatalk:

is it appropriate for friends to snark at each other in a comment thread? isn't this the kind of behavior that we decried in the cam girls & e/n boys vs. mefites thread a couple of months ago? shouldn't this stuff be taken to internet gossip where it belongs?

god, that would be embarrassing. swift: you may be used to spending time in the principal's office, but not me! i'm a good egg. kind of like c3po.
