Raider. QB Crusher. Murderer?

Anthony Wayne Smith was a first round draft pick for the Raiders in 1990. Alternately described as a "big old teddy bear" and "[like] a dog [that] is super beautiful, sweet looking, wagging its tail, and it's acting really friendly, but there's something about that dog.... You worry one day he's gonna bite your hand," he faced the usual hassles of an athlete shifting to civilian life when his career came to an end. Then came the arson and murder. Maybe.

Man, what a creepy, violent asshole. It seems pro sports attracts guys like this in droves.

I looked for but did not find the words concussion and traumatic brain injury. Not looking to exonerate, just curious.

He has the stamp of his step-father/father on him. Wow. What a tragic story. I hope he rots in prison.

Wow. It's one thing when people turn to crime because they have no other options, but this guy made millions playing sports and was married to a lawyer, yet it seems like he chose to be a violent gangbanger. That's fucked up.

...the usual hassles of an athlete shifting to civilian life...

Interesting and revealing choice of words.

"It's not his fault, it's the traumatic cerebral encephalopathy", cried the intelligent defense attorney on appeal
