No post about Retro Futurist Synthwave is complete without mention of Com Truise

Nice find, Doleful...

I love Com Truise. I love Kavinsky

Com was here last year, and will be in SATX again for SXSW.

It's the future. I am surrounded by computers, and work to help run and build the Internet.

You might say... I live in an Electric Groove.

I was just listening to Lazerhawk's Visitors album last night and reflecting on how awesome it is. So thanks for this!

Thanks for this post - I am now completely, irrevocably addicted to Com Truise. Also, my Sennheiser cans are now considering buying their own Metafilter account.

Love Lazerhawk. For more synthwave/outrun electro, check out Rosso Corsa Records and Valerie Collective. And if you have Spotify, I've got a huge playlist of this kind of stuff (and other related styles). A few favorites...

FM Attack - Dreamer
Futurecop! - Afterburner
Electric Youth - Right Back To You

On the more relaxing 80's tip, 1991 - Inside You

Yeah I was just cruising Soundcloud, typing things into the search bar like "lasers" and "compute" and stuff like that. Also I really like calling this genre "outrun electro", very fun. My wife and kids think it's really strange when it's my turn to pick an album and I pick something from Com Truise. Blame it on my youth.

HEALTH's album releases tend towards blasted apocalyptic noise-rock. And their remix albums sound exactly like this retro-futurist electro action. It's great! Seriously, check out the synth solo on this cut, it delights me EVERY TIME.

schoolgirl report, thanks so much for the Spotify link. I've been putting together my own list of this sort of music but yours puts mine to shame.

Thanks for posting. Reminds me of Kavinsky — good stuff!

If you like this then it could well be that you will also like the animé film Redline!

Drexen, that trailer. It's like they tapped into all my teenage fantasies and then turned them up to eleven.

Oh, it's all that and more. Great English dub, too.

Also relevant, previously.

A friend of mine posted Kavinsky on fb recently, and now this. And I was just thinking how I haven't heard any new music lately. (I guess I still haven't after listening to this, but I also guess that's sort of the point.)

Wait.. damn it, I. ME!

I am Lazerhawk. I have posted to the Green with it. There exists an abandoned MySpace for it. Lazerhawk is the name I started using for my metal output over five years ago.

Seriously, fuck these name thieves. Yes, I know it was a movie before me.. but as a band/musical project name... Lazerhawk is mine.

God.. damn.. it.

Lazerhawk is a metal band name. Not your fucking tinkering with meet plugins electronic Vice magazine crap..

Furious..

Hahaha mediocre I am sorry to hear it. Do you have links to your stuff you can post in thread?

Going to have to sit down and listen to everything people posted in here after the OP link. I am completely unfamiliar with this genre but could easily get heavily into it.

Ahhh, this is great! I've been really enjoying the retrofuturist thing recently. I also really like Umberto, and the soundtrack to the recent retro-80s movie Beyond the Black Rainbow is absolutely fantastic too.
