Cool for cats

James Bowen is a young man for whom life hasn’t always been kind. But a chance meeting on the streets of London where he was selling The Big Issue with Bob, his ginger cat, and Mary Pachnos, a literary agent, changed his life forever. Also Bob has a twitter like all the cool cats.

And now there's gonna be a movie! Great story, thanks for sharing.

Amazing!

However:

James has known many cats in his life and said that he feels that ginger cats are the most intelligent.

I am currently watching one trying to eat a piece of carpet fuzz but I guess Mr. Smart-Bob-Haver is entitled to his feelings.

Aww, James and Bob! I used to see them frequently outside Islington tube station, always a highlight.

(psst. the twitter link is sending me to the new post page for the blue though)

I think metafilter is infested with cat pr ops and this week they are working overtime to combat the knowledge of baby rabbit slaughter

Behind every great man there's a great woman cat.

Ah, I read the man's name as 'James Brown'.. I thought 'The Big Issue' was maybe his first album featuring Bob. The rest of the sentence didn't make a whole lot of sense.

I've had the pleasure of meeting both James and Bob out on the street. James seems like a really nice guy, and Bob is an orange ball of fuzz and awesome. Proof of the latter: I took this photo of Bob outside of the Covent Garden tube station last April.

(Yes, he's wearing a little scarf. He has fans who knit them for him.)

My late kitty was named Bob and I miss her dearly. I fully approve of this awesome story and I wish both Bob and James more success and tuna.

Irk. I seem to have futzed the Twitter link.
Here is the right one.
No idea how I did that. Sorry everyone.
(Thanks to Muffin Man for the heads up).

He has a Facebook too.

I heard about this on the BBC last night. Couldn't find a link at the time, but here it is.
