I would have been more impressed, and horrified, to watch the video of said tape's removal. Were any eyeballs actually pulled out in the process? (yeah, think about THAT for a while, just before you go to sleep!).

I don't know who Wes Naman is but Douglas Gordon did this exact art piece first in 1996.

Pee Wee Herman was an early innovator in the form, although this takes it to a whole new level.
