I asked a six year old what my movie should be about, and this is what he told me.

I liked it better than War Horse.

Wise kid! As an anxious person, I wish someone had taught me to just think about pizza when I was a little one and scared of monsters under the bed.

Really, this was charming and worth seven or so minutes of my time.

Charming really is the perfect word.

My five-year-old just said - "was that me telling that story?"

"I love the name Asa"

ASA are my initials and I have been called Asa at times in my life. This made me very happy! I feel like a bear sometimes.

Loved it. Was that Bennington? (it was a college in Vermont, right?) Middlebury?

Curiously preening. This film is not about that kid's story.

Thanks for sharing this. I vote for Asa to be BOSS OF EVERYTHING! (We'll see how much we still love her after she makes THAT movie!)

But let's face it; the kid's story was kind of stupid. Mice do not like swimming pools.

I could have watched another 20 minutes of this, loved it.

This film is not about that kid's story.

I don't think it's supposed to be. It's about fear and embracing change. Which is cool. I liked how the director took the kid's adorably strange and very kid-like story and turned it into something really interesting and affecting.

Was that Bennington? (it was a college in Vermont, right?) Middlebury?

According to the director's bio, Middlebury is the college she just graduated from, so that's probably where it was shot.

Anyone remember the televised cartoon that a kid made up a story for, the mom recorded & sent in and the writers/animaters liked it so much that they drew/animated it? Something not really a kids cartoon- like Pinky & the Brain.

Not to diminish this creation: I've shared it with a couple people who just loved it. When it switched from animation to live action, I was disappointed for 1/16th of a second until I realized how fun it was that grown men were portraying a mouse & bear! And the closing music!

Eight tentacles up!
