Besides a tiny population of about 900, the Vatican has everything a normal nation might have: a police force, a newspaper, a postal service, even a soup kitchen for the poor.

I wonder if the soup kitchen is for the general populous of rome, or if they really do have 'poor people' who can't afford to buy their own food in the vatican

"Inside the Vatican," makes no mention of there being an Office of Altar Boy Transgressions. But, since it doesn't mention a lot of other things, we can't be too sure, writes TV columnist John Levesque in the Seattle P-I.

At least it's not that kind of transgression he's talking about. The Vatican also holds the cardinals' outfitter Gamerelli, where the pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet buys the red socks that he superstitiously wears for concert performances.

The Pope's Penis

It hangs deep in his robes, a delicate
clapper at the center of a bell.
It moves when he moves, a ghostly fish in a
halo of silver seaweed, the hair
swaying in the dark and the heat -- and at night,
while his eyes sleep, it stands up
in praise of God.
