Jane Henson 1934-2013

On the passing of Jane Nebel Henson, who was, as this piece from a Muppets fansite explains, more than Jim's widow, she was the original Second Muppeteer.

with recognition that bardophile thought of this first, but hey, some things DO leave you speechless

Most give Jim all the credit but Jane certainly had a hand in it, too.

Who said that every wish
would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing
and what do we think we might see?

There is probably nothing so touching and appropriate as commemorating the death of a Muppeteer with a terrible pun.

It was my great pleasure to have worked with the Hensons. Jane was the kind spirit of the Muppets and the backbone of the Henson family. Her generousity and committment to children’s education was a lifelong dedication. RIP
