That guy was wearing camo crocs. Your argument is invalid.

Oh man I remember that one. Did I post that too? I worry that my mefi posting history is becoming a little shark heavy.

Dunno where I saw it first, but it is a classic of the Surprise Shark genre.

Oh,Surprise Shark you crack me up.
"Surprise!...Bet you thought we all forgot your birthday!"

Pop a scuba tank in its mouth and shoot it with a flare gun, right? It's been a while, and I live in Iowa, so I forget how we're supposed to react to these things.

Penn Torque reel on a Penn International V rod- nice piece of kit, made here in the USA for the New England surf fishing crowd, and would translate nicely to shark kayak fishing in the tropical Pacific. Can't tell the type of line, but it looks like red flouro.

It's like when I tried to re-wire a stove outlet for an electric dryer... I was really damn nervous I didn't shut down the right circuit at the box, and that the circuit tester I had was old and broken, so I taped a screwdriver to broom handle, and touched the leads of the exposed outlet.

The expression I had on my face as sparks rained down onto the concrete floor of that garage exactly mirrored his when he got that tiny shark right the fuck off his hook.

Seeing sharks up close like that is definately scary as hell! We saw a lot of sharks fishing off Kauai and I even caught a couple small ones. Lil ones are scary too.

I remember a friend catching a little-ish nurse shark once. We took it home and while prepping it for a mass dinner, I grabbed the head, stuck it on my hand, and chased another friend's (incredibly cute, but not mine) girlfriend around the house with it as a puppet.

Does this story have a point? Not so much, but it IS about one of my only shark experiences, so there's that.

The shark in flod's video is so elegant, for lack of a better word. What a beautiful animal.

Few things can put one's perspective about life into the correct mindset like having a toothy clever beast eye you for more than 5 minutes in the hopes you do something stupid and become dinner.

His whooping reminded me of the Winston Churchill quote, "Nothing in life is so exhilarating as to be shot at without result." [src]

remember that TAL episode about near-death experiences? There was somebody from OZ or NZ who described how the shark bit her in the gut and was sort of trying to tear her to pieces. I think being eaten alive has gotta be one of the worst ways to go. And maybe explains why the zombie franchise refuses to um, die.
