"A lot of people think I'm a complete idiot. But I'm actually a professional idiot with decades of experience." Christopher Schewe, aka Shoenice22, posts videos of himself quickly consuming things that should not be consumed quickly, if at all.

Highlights: shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, condoms, Pokemon cards. And then there are the alcohol videos

This post was deleted for the following reason: Upon consideration, basically a channel of self-harm, so maybe not the kind of thing we want to be driving traffic to. Sorry for the delayed delete. -- LobsterMitten

Quickly clicked over to the page with all the video thumbnails and there's one of him holding a small dog and since all I know about this guy is that he eats things... D:

This feels like staring into the face of mental illness.

Can someone who has watched all of the first link please please please tell me that this is all a joke and that this isn't actually a severely disturbed and depressed individual entertaining people by eating things?

Not bad. He's no Michel Lotito though.

He comes across as pretty with-it and sympathetic in the Vice interview.

I followed him on YouTube for some time and have watched a fair number of his videos over time.

I can't say with any certainty that he's any more disturbed than most comics seem to be. As noted, he seemed pretty self-aware in the Vice interview. However, I stopped following him when he did a string of strange videos of himself variously riding a bike and yelling at people, doing pranks I don't recall the details of, and so forth. I couldn't tell if he was just trying to expand his repertoire or if he was going off the rails. Either way, they weren't entertaining so I stopped.

Bottom line: I can't tell.

Can't believe he just made the blue. Yeah, he's not clinically insane--perhaps marketably insane?--but he's definitely some kind of insane.

OK, is it just me, or does he seem a bit... slow? Could be damage from eating all that probably-poisonous shit, but I feel like I'm watching a special ed kid eat paste because he doesn't realize the other kids are laughing at him.

Oh god, Shoenice. I still remember him chugging that bottle of Devil's Springs...you want to grab it away and say "hey man, you really don't have to do this. You'll still be loved."

That is precisely how I feel as well.

He seems more amused by his own antics than anything. And this is fine. Everyone needs a hobby. And a hug.

The videos of him downing entire bottles of hard liquor are really disturbing. Perhaps unsurprisingly, one of them is followed up by a video of him back at home after a night spent in the ER.

Coming next to Vice: watch as this homeless man freebases crack cocaine! Marvel as he spirals into a self-destructive lifestyle of addiction and desperation! Laugh as he shivers on the toilet! Ha ha, look, he forgot to take his pants off! Whoopsies, what a zinger!

I saw the post and was like "oh, this guy", and it turns out it was a different dude who eats things he shouldn't eat on youtube. What a strange niche.

For the record here's the guy I was thinking of.

So... what is it that he does besides eating things? What does this global anti-hunger campaign consist of? And how have Shoenice's videos saved marriages? Because he says that, but I have a hard time making the connection. Nice documentary, but I feel like I needed some Shoenice 101 beforehand.

Yeah, those were actually hard to watch. And in the one of him downing the pint of 151, he says something to the effect of "gotta hold this bottle by my face for 20 seconds to get the check in the mail..." Was that a joke? Or did Bicardi actually pay him to down an entire pint of 151 in a gulp?

For what it's worth the Guinness Book of World Records removed most records relating to eating things or other dangerous "harm yourself" activities because of the same concerns voiced by posters in this thread...

Several world records that were once included in the book have been removed for ethical reasons, including concerns for the wellbeing of potential record breakers. For example, following publication of a "heaviest fish" record, many fish owners overfed their pets beyond the bounds of what was healthy, therefore such entries were removed.[18] The Guinness Book also dropped records within their "eating and drinking records" section of Human Achievements in 1991 over concerns that potential competitors could harm themselves and expose the publisher to potential litigation.[19] These changes included the removal of all liquor, wine, and beer drinking records, along with other unusual records for consuming such unlikely things as bicycles and trees.[19] Other records, such as sword swallowing and rally driving (on public roads), were closed from further entry as the current holders had performed beyond what are considered safe human tolerance levels.
