So, speaking in terms of canon, is this how IG-88 was able to assimilate into the Death Star as part of the quest to impose galactic domination for all droids (moments before its descrution just off Endor)?

Disney seems to be poised to scrap all (or much of) the EU as possible.
Me, I was lost wondering why a Gammorean Guard and Lobot were on a Star Destroyer (Avenger, if I recall my naming), and why Boba Fett didn't wipe the floor with him.
And then I was angry because of the SWHS references. So many.
And then I remembered the Star Wars Kinnect dancing game.
And then I remembered JJ Abhrams is directing the next Star Wars,
And then I remembered Daft Punk are stealing Kraftwork's everything.
So many feels.

The artist seems to me Mister Zillion (aka Ollie Glatzer). There's a better quality version here. He seems to be on Linked in and is a US native.
Facebook too, I think.
I suspect there might be copyright issues to make it commercially available given what it rips off, but you might be able to get it direct from him.

Love, love this. I had a jumbo IG-88 and he remains one of my favorite bit players in the whole Star Wars 'verse. The short lovingly (if not faithfully) blended so many of the most intriguing secondary characters. It reminded me of all of the seriously non-canon situations I would create playing with my Star Wars figures as a kid. Well, except for one thing. If you wanted a non-dude, you basically only had one choice: Leia. (sure, sure, take your pick from Original, Bespin, Slave girl... but all Leia).
