Giant rubber duck coming to Pittsburgh The large rubber ducky already made its debut in Hong Kong. Now it's headed to the Steel City. Watch out, yinz!

I love this piece so much. A photo of it in Hong Kong has been my desktop background for a month on three different workstations. Both adorable and uncanny.

But I'm not going to Pittsburgh darnit. It absolutely must be allowed to float past the Statue of Liberty. That is a photo op for the ages.

More child friendly than that CMU student who shaved her pubes into a cross

I heard a flock of big rubber ducks were recently spotted in Tiananmen Square.

Now if only it were a yacht, or better yet, a mech.

And if it were a mech, that it also made Gamera real.

He will fumble less than their current running backs. Good move Pittsburgh!

In fact the duck debuted in Amsterdam (the artist is Dutch). Its Osaka incarnation was featured in UNIQLO CALENDAR FEATURING FANTASTIC PLASTIC MACHINE which is, what is the word I'm looking for, fantastic

Oh, I didn't realize. The duck looks quite small in Amsterdam, no?

I do think the duck needs to keep getting bigger as it travels the world.

Give it a couple of months in the US and it will be plenty big.

Pittsburgh is a wonderful and slightly loopy city that deserves something cool like this.

When you're visiting, just remember not to order fries and slaw separately, 'cause they're already on the sandwich.

Leaving from Hong Kong? I think Edward Snowden should climb inside and stow away in it. He could pop out during the big celebratory reveal screaming at the government for "ducking accountability."

Had I not read about this prior to seeing it in town, I'd have just assumed it was a new outside-the-box public transit project from the Port Authority.

Also, those Just Ducky Tours boat-trucks are going to be hella jealous.

I saw the ducky in Hong Kong a few weeks ago. It's so ridiculous and perfect that it still makes me smile just thinking about it. It's really big and really cheerful. I wish it were coming to San Franscisco so I could see it float through the golden gate. New York would be great too, as spitbull said the statue of liberty photo op would be fantastic.
