"Indiana Jones and the Book of Solomon!"

"A search that will save his love. A search that will save his life. A search that will save the world." Google Operating System uncovers an old Google/Airtel commercial from 2007 that references Indiana Jones (a bit) and is at least half as entertaining as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. These were the tie-in billboards, here are the storyboards and this is a contemporary news article about the production.

As a side question, the actress seems really familiar. She looks a bit like Rosamund Pike (especially on the billboard images) but that seems unlikely.

Is there another one about a search that will save all your email and hand it over to the feds?

"...half as entertaining as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is setting the bar pretty darn low. The commercial was much better than that horrid movie and at least it didn't cost me $20 and 2 hours.

You know, those retro 2007 ads.

Speaking of Indiana Jones, what's with the weird archaeological tone of this post?

I've seen the script for the 2014 reboot. Indy decrypts Abner's notes from captured email traffic, then finds the Well of the Souls with Google Earth. Belloq and Toht are on the no-fly list and never make it on the plane to Cairo. The climax of the movie is a scene involving airspace permits.

Christ, I am not ready for 2007 to be "do you remember when" territory.

Sorry, 2007 seems like a very long time ago.

I’m not even accepting it as such.

Sorry, 2007 seems like a very long time ago.

I quit several apple-related subreddits in disgust when apparent 15 year olds took over everything posting nostalgic photos of the iPhone 1 they dug out of some musty closet. "REMEMBER WHEN...."

Yeah, I remember when. That was LAST FREAKING WEEK.
