Curiosity piqued by the music behind Avatar: The Last Air Bender, Avatar: The Legend of Korra, or Kung Fu Panda: Legend of Awesomeness? If so, then you may already be fan of the work of Jeremy Zuckerman, one half of the music and sound design production company, Track Team.

You can sample Zuckerman's work on his website or follow him on Twitter. Coinciding with the release of the first Avatar series soundtrack, The Legend of Korra: Music from Book One, Zuckerman will be doing an AMA on Reddit later today at 12 pm PST.

Previously on Legend of Korra and more.

So wait, is he or is he not responsible for the glorious song Secret Tunnel?

Indeed.

I've been waiting for this release for ages, though what I want even more is an official release of the original series' music. Supposedly good sales for Korra's soundtrack might lead to that.

My favorite piece from the original show, from one of my favorite scenes.

Here's the IAMA thread, including what he has to say about the problems and possibilities of an A:TLA soundtrack release.

Phew. I checked the link and it's not the Shamalamadingdong pile. I was going to say it would be really sad if a talented person like this had made something for that.

Came here to post Last Agni Kai and found it had already been posted. Definitely one of my favorite pieces too. I also love the way that they mix the music up and the SFX down in the same scene, so that the music takes the foreground. It really underscores the sadness of the scene.

Also a big fan of Peace / The Avatar's Love, The Final Blow, and Ocean Spirit, the last of which is associated with the episodes that made me realize the show was something to take seriously from a storytelling standpoint. I started watching the show during its original run and just rewatched it around this time last year. If anything, I enjoyed it more the second time. What a great series.

Korra was a little uneven with the pacing and the short season, and I'm not sure I completely buy the way they resolved it, but hopefully the extra time they're spending on book 2 will result in that stuff evening out. I'll still watch it at any rate, just for more in this universe.

It's been about a year or more since I last re-watched the Last Airbender...and thanks to this thread, I'll probably dive into it again.

When it was renewed, it was done so for Book 2 and Book 3 (and 4?), and I'd like to think that the writers/creators will feel comfortable spreading character development over a longer time period. I thought there were lost opportunities in Book 1 due to its length and a lack of knowledge on whether they would return.

Yeah, Korra as a show was very uneven, especially near the end.

But I've given the soundtrack about 10 full listens now and it's absolutely stellar.

I'm on about the same number of playing throughs and loving it. Hopefully there has been enough of a show of support to make Nick decide to release a Last Airbender album. Earlier today it was number one in sound tracks and even number six on Pop albums at Amazon. It's also doing stupendously well on iTunes, too.

I seem to recall that book 2 would get more episodes, too (Wikipedia claims 14), which will also help. Maybe they'll make an announcement at the SDCC panel regarding when book 2 will premiere. It's a pretty natural venue for it.

Just did my part and bought the soundtrack. Here's hoping this leads to the work on the original series music that he describes in that AMA...

On facebook, it was announced they're going to screen the entirety of the first episode of Book 2 at the panel.

...

Stupid San Diego being a thousand miles away.

...

It'd be great if they could throw out some sales figures, but unlikely. What I want to see is a 20 second video of a Nick exec, smoking a cigar and waving a bottle of booze around wildly and spinning excitedly around in an executive leather chair, hootin' and hollerin' with sale figures in front of him, then screaming at Jeremy Zuckerman, "GET ON IT, MY BOY! GET ON IT!"
