freeform light: glowing wires, cool to the touch. uses very little power, and usable for...anything you need to light. really beautiful light sculptures waiting to be created.

Surely you've seen fiber optics before!

I love the look of it, especially the kind with the rotating color lenses that create slow-moving spectrums throughout the cord. (You may have seen this if you've ever visted the Northstar resort in Lake Tahoe, CA).

If this catches on, maybe the dying art of neon-lit signs, which are high-maintanance and expensive, will make a comeback.

Hee hee. Here's what I did with it at BM2K1. And here's something much cooler I saw there. Fabulous stuff. CoolNeon.com will sell you all you can buy. Ain't cheap! And it ain't fiber optics, neither!

Definitely not fiber optics. Cool neon is essentially a TV tube in a wire. There's really only one color - the aqua of phosphorescence. The other colors are from outer coatings.
