I dunno, I thought that Han Solo one was pretty fantastic...

I don't know how to handle the Han Solo video. It kind of blew my mind. I better not have that song stuck in my head at any point.
posted by A Bad Catholic at 8:01 PM on August 14, 2013

This brings up questions.

Is that Han Solo one really a game?

Is the guy freaking out about Gangnam Style being played in America because "NORTH KOREA $^%$^%$^$" serious or is it satire? I couldn't tell if it was Poe's law in action or not.

And OMG WTF is up with that baby yoga! At first I thought it was a doll and a parody and then when I realized it was a real baby it was all ........ O.o........
posted by Jalliah at 8:14 PM on August 14, 2013

I got that I'm Han Solo stuck in my head when I first saw it. The only way to get rid of it was to send it on to most of my friends. Let me know if you need it as a ringtone.

But that baby yoga, wow. It's horrific! Can you imagine if Brittney Spears had gotten caught doing that?

The Baby Yoga video is the equivalent goatse for any parent of young children.

How in the world was this never a meme that I ran into?
I would start going to dance clubs again just to pull this routine off if I thought it would anger people sufficiently.

Baby Yoga - an interview with Lena Fokina.
posted by unliteral at 8:49 PM on August 14, 2013

Prom Night, by an unknown source masquerading as Rebecca Black, is listed as one of the internet's worst, but it is in fact one of the best satires of a pop song ever written. The rap break is genius (I won't spoil it), and the lyrics are so poorly enjambed that they take on a bizarre poetry of their own. It's goddamn hilarious.

One of my all-time favorite lines in a song is:

We're all dancing in the sky.
His eyes are great cause they are brown.

The inflection is PERFECT. I can't even explain. You have to hear it for yourself. I literally wrote an essay about this song I love it so much.

Even after watching a CNN interview on the subject, I still can't tell if the "mass text" song is satire or not. At first I thought it definitely was, but then... I'm confused... I need to lie down

Re: baby yoga, maybe there is some way in which being flipped around is great for a child, but it is just way too easy to twist a baby's arm right off it's body, so... I'm not convinced it's a sport for the uninitiated.

Clicked it and thought, surly there is nothing more horrifying than the six year old prom diva.

But no, as usual you are right. Baby yoga makes me both outraged over this injustice and despondent in my impotence to stop it.

Oh wow. Just, just, no, no, no. I got thirty seconds into the "Worst national anthem ever" before my ear-drums wanted to hear nails on a blackboard as a form of relief, and then 30 seconds into "baby dynamics yoga" before I wanted to call child services. Truly, truly awful.

Thanks to one of the baby yoga links above (the one where the lunatic lady is interviewed) I found an even worse video that I cannot in good conscience link here, featuring the Muppets and Two Girls, One Cup. So there are worse things out there.

Two seconds into that song I had to turn it off. That poor kid is going to be trying to live that down her whole life.

The National Anthem clip gets better, it's still not very good but I think she was just really nervous to start. You can hear the shift in the crowd as they start to support her and by the end it's mostly other young kids in the crowd that are chuckling. At least she didn't forget the words. (yes, that's a bunch of Saskatoon folks helping her remember).

if you watch the Han Solo video (or any of the Star Wars dancing game videos) on YouTube and give it a thumbs down, I don't think you understand the internet.

That Han Solo video, and the related Darth Vader/Emperor video, they're like, just waiting to be put into a hundred animated GIFs. They're protoGIFs.

I kept thinking the baby yoga video was Penn & Teller gone deep undercover, and at the end she would twist the babies head off and cockroaches would come pouring out.

Regarding the WTF Gangnam Style!!? rant- it is as if South Park's Eric Cartman were made flesh and unleashed upon an unsuspecting America. I suspect it is 100% sincere, but can't dismiss the possibility that it's a brilliant send-up.

I'm pretty sure that she is, or that she at least used to be? Isn't the whole idea that some people will click on an unfamiliar YT video featuring heretofore unfamiliar cleavage, by which point she's already earned her cut?

It's sort of genius, as far as side jobs go, but it would be even more ingenious if she said interesting/funny/strange things. Especially if the first minute of each of her videos was just sort of boring, but then after the cowards had left, she'd launch into some ear-searingly bizarre rant coming from a place of deep and irredeemable madness.
