Parkour seems like a contest to expend the most energy possible getting from point A to B.

A bit of fishing line attached to the hat and running under the chin would have made such a difference...

Mario is in dire need of a chinstrap.

I actually really liked that they made absolutely no attempt to secure the hats.

This is even more dangerous than it looks because Mario takes double damage without his cap.

Which is funny because I think the original point was to try to go from point A to point B in the straightest line possible, independent of the obstacles in front of you. That's what leads to the jumps of what not.

Or maybe that is freerunning. I forget the distinction.

These guys are doing freerunning, in the Sébastien Foucan definition of the word, which focuses on free expression. (Hence the flips and nonsense.) Parkour, as espoused by David Belle, is about efficiency and exploiting the urban environment.

Mod note: A couple of comments deleted; perfectly fine if it's not your thing, but maybe go participate in a thread more to your tastes rather than just signify your lack of interest.

Which got it's own FPP as well.

The flipping in place is sort of boring, but the blind hop over a concrete wall on top of another narrow concrete wall 6 ft distant was... crazy.

It does get repetitive in a few spots, but it's also pretty creative and damn cool. Thanks for posting!

I don't know why, but for whatever reason, this video led me to the sudden realization that "Mario Is Missing!" for the SNES, despite claims it was an "educational" title, was just directly trying to rip off the Carmen San Diego games.

Cool vid tho.

I heard that in Mario can use his hat in a similar fashion to flame balls but can't smash any blocks (regardless of size) until he retrieves it.
