They seem to be doing a lot of acting and not a lot of actually being drunk.

After watching the "behind the scenes" video I would like to retract this statement.

Apparently drunk people trying to act look exactly like people trying to act drunk... My world is blown.

Huh, the composite work is actually really pretty good considering it was shot on a DSLR.

"Gorgonzola" IS a great name for a space villain, though.

I want them to reshoot it, but this time, film each shot at a certain documented level of drunkenness. Starting with completely sober as a baseline. Then at, say, alcohol blood level 0.05, then 1.0, then 1.5, then 2.0, etc. until the porcelain bus arrives.

Does the success of Drunk history and production value of Star Drunk indicate enough of a trend for this to be labeled as having jumped the shark? It was good, but I fear we'll soon have Dancing with the Drunks as the next logical television leap.

That's pretty much what all 1970s variety shows were, isn't it?

And the step after that...

Hey! I recognize the Drunk Commander from college, at least I think I do. Not the type (authoritative and drunk) but the actual guy. That's mildly thrilling - "Hi Greg!" Also, this is funny. I think I got a contact drunk through my screen....

And the step after that...

Jeez, totally, all Solid Gold episodes based on Scarface-style mounds of coke?

They did this with a music video.

The Captain has the best drunk faces.

I guess that's why he's the captain.
