The awkward, breathless way they read make me I feel like I'm on an archaeological dig that just discovered the ruins of the LiveJournal Civilization.

Someone on twitter said they sound like 5th grade essays and I think that couldn't be better put.

In conclusion, Buzzfeed is a site of contrasts.

Can someone make a un-upworthy script next? Something that just sends you to the original YouTube video without the undignified upworthy title hook

Artw: "... for those that love Buzzfeed's writing ..."

And just 11 people on the internet said "this is for me!"

I can't stop laughing at the fact that these pages, which routinely crash my mobile browser, really are only a paragraph of text apiece.

Also this is from the Power Rangers article:
“When it premiered 20 years ago, it went on to redefine what was possible in a kids’ show in terms of ratings, global appeal and pop-cultural relevance,” Elie Dekel, the president of Saban Brands, told Time magazine.

That's a hell of a way to retroactively praise the fact that children aren't remotely as critical as adults about purchased second-hand footage not matching cheap originally-shot footage.

Reminds me of those photos of what Times Square would look like without the advertising.

Buzzfeed without the GIFs is just thinking small. What you need to do is make a page that remixes metafilter threads into a buzzfeed layout. Do some rough analysis of FPP text to match the images (run a google image search of the FPP tags on buzzfeed.com if you feel really lazy) and start raking in those advertising dollars. You could call it BuzzFilter or MetaFeed, your choice.

Wait, Buzzfeed uses GIFs?

C'mon potato, you should be better than this.

This is perfect. Buzzfeed gives me motion sickness.

What's funny is you could do this with cracked.com and the articles would still retain like 90% of their humor.

As much as I'm an apologist for Cracked, you're comparing two different types of format. Now, Thought Catalog without reference to twenty-something is something I would read.

Wait, Buzzfeed uses GIFs?

I know, right? I've been browsing the Web with Lynx for years and never even knew.

You people and your high-tech nonsense.

Now if you'll excuse me the UPS guy is here with my latest issue of MetaFilter.

Still thinking small. Multi-Column collections of images are this year's hotness:
Metafilterest

Anyway, my take on all this is that Buzzfeed needs to convert a bunch of Garfield Minus Garfield strips into gifs that animate between the three panels, so we could get some real recursion going on.
