Parasites of Democracy

One take on democracy is that democracy is a way of protecting ourselves from psychopaths.
Without human rights and free elections, psychopaths are given free reign with horrendous consequences.
Without adequate rules, even corporations can become psychopaths and cause global financial ruin.
So just whose interests is the chaos in US politics serving?
This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, we talked about ways to reframe this to come off as less of an leading-question-editorial thing yesterday, this doesn't seem to have taken any of that into account. I guess drop us a line if you want some more feedback on this. -- cortex
I shouldn't think democracy is a foolproof protection against people who are assertive, manipulative, and ruthless. Doesn't it offer them opportunities for demagoguery, corrupt popularism, and so on?
Hereditary kingship seems more likely to work, unless psychopathy is largely hereditary of course, which it could be for all I know. Random election might be best of all.

The purpose of Democracy is to put the blame on the population, and give them the government they deserve. It's the worst possible system, except for all the others.
