Indonesia's masked monkey trade. The circus-like performance is called topeng monyet and is regarded by some Indonesians as an important folk art tradition dating back to the 1890s.

Animal shows have long been regarded as tourist attractions but a growing awareness of animal welfare may soon put an end to them, including the traveling topeng monyet , or masked-monkey, performances found on the streets of Jakarta.

It's really gratifying to see Indonesia moving in the right direction on this. Hopefully kopi luwak production can be reformed as well.

I'm still not over watching "The Act of Killing" so I don't have great things to say about Indonesia, or much positivity.

Maybe educate yourself a bit more? No need to go through the world and form opinions with blinders on.
