The movie's an interesting one. Very low-fi. I loved the aesthetics and the idea and the acting is superb but I struggled to actually love the movie. I can see why the critics would go for it.

I find it interesting. The music is kind of like the music from A Mighty Wind: darned close enough to be convincing. In this case, you can hear a lot in the aesthetics of today's sound that you wouldn't have had in early 60s folk. However, I think the topic is great and the moment - the moment before folk broke big and became a mainstream sensations - is a terrific one to explore. Much as with today's artisanal-chalkboard-handknit everything, there were many years that came before in which people started to craft a new aesthetic before it became commonplace.
