Loki's horse

"Loki, I expected an A+." I, as the kids say, know that feel.

Fan art today seems to be a lot better than it was. I was looking at some old fandom stuff from the '80s a while back, and it was frankly embarrassing. But there's some terrific artwork on Tumblr and DA, although you do have to accept the risk of sudden penises in order to do a search for any.

As was JUST pointed out to me, in Thor 2 ..Loki is totally Hannibal Lecter in Silence Of The Lambs.

How did I miss that?

Countess Elena, that is a feature, not a bug.

And he even got to literally take Anthony Hopkins' place while he was at it, too.

Oh man now I'm thinking about Mads Mikkelsen as Loki.

He was actually in plans to be the bland Elf Villain before turning it down for Hannibal

Now I'm thinking about Christopher Eccleston as Hannibal and I'm just.... confused. And... pleased? And... sliiiightly aroused? Who even knows anymore.

Ima let you finish, but Kieron Gillen's run in Journey into Mystery telling the story of Loki dying, being reborn as a little kid, and subsequent spoilers (including Loki's current role in the Young Avengers) is some of the best superhero comics I've ever read. (I've read a pile or three.)

(It really begins with Gillen's fantastic Siege: Loki#1).

The Gillen run on Journey into Mystery is indeed pretty damn fantastic.

Right there with you guys on JIM. Young Loki was the most engaging character in comics for at least a year. And so ambiguous!

Gillen's a cruel man.

This is sort of a derail, but I introduced one of my coworkers to Tumblr last week. She found naked pictures of Tom Hiddleston in under ten minutes. I don't know if I'm proud or deeply ashamed.

It's 2013. It's ok to be both.

Pictures? Or drawings? I'm asking for a...friend.

I have a friend who is a dead ringer for Hiddleston and I keep saying he could make a fortune on some Loki themed photo shoots...

I'm glad I'm not the only person who'll get in trouble for looking at Loki Dick while on the clock.

Gifs. Apparently from Only Lovers Left Alive, since Tilda Swinton was in a few of them.

Those elves were so cheesy. Reminded me a lot of the Necromongers from Chronicles of Riddick.

Or Nero from Star Trek, as one review pointed out. They are very generic SF villain.

I grew up with the Peter Madsen comics and even to this day I strongly prefer Madsen to Marvel. Here's a good article on how Norse mythology has been adapted in comics.
