We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball in G-Major. Maybe not G-Major, but at least pitched down and edited. As not-work-safe as the regular versions.

More remixes by the same artist: Burn, by Ellie Goulding and Roar by Katy Perry.

Please let auto-detune become a thing.

I mean, because that was kinda awesome.

It's like the old heavy-metal monster-voice pitch shift thing, but creepier. Less "Mister Satan ha ha" and more unnerving.

No, please do not let auto-detune become a thing. Replacing pop music with a bad acid trip is not the solution.

Not for warping other people's stuff as much as for use in new things.

The solution for what? What needs solving?

Oh god if people start using "in G Major" to mean "superimposed with a pitch-shifted version of itself so it sounds ugly" I am going to get all kinds of pedantic and irritable about it. Please let this be a short-lived trend.

This is awesome. It puts into perspective Miley Cyrus's try-hard nature: if she truly wanted to alienate people and sound badass, she would have led with something like this.

The harmonizer effect they use to make these makes the original flange effect in the chorus of We Can't Stop sound like some kinda wind whistling from the pits of hell or maybe satan playing a penny whistle.

I also never noticed she has a a tattoo of an eye on her finger she is clearly a member of the ilerminaty.

The Residents out-nightmare anything this thread had in it already. I absolutely CANNOT listen or watch anything they've ever made.

Oh, thank goodness, I was afraid I was the only one whose first thought was, "Gee, that just sounds like the Residents picked up a female lead singer."

Oh wow, how have I not heard of the residents before? Fantastic!

Well, that comment just tacked-on another 30 years or so to my age.

So am I the only one who actually really, really, really likes this? Seriously, I would purchase an album of this crap offa iTunes (full disclosure: I listen to the Residents and Faust for *fun*).

I seriously dig the Wrecking Ball version - it makes my spine twitch like an unseen predator is around, and then the refrain kicks and all my teeth turn sideways in my mouth. It's a decent drag/detune version - for some others, see:
V/VM - "The Lady in Red (is Dancing With Meat)" from the album Sick Love
tombz - 7 ▷ᴲ▼¡£ϟ (Florence + The Machine drag) from ▷ℜ▲₲ℤ
oOoOO - PCKRFCRMX (Lady Gaga thoroughly de-mixed)

The list goes on. Drag is semi-associated with Witch House, altho the genre rapidly splintered and went in a jillion different directions in the space of about six months after it initially hit the scene. (and Drag definitely isn't the first foray into detuned-slowed mixes by a long shot, but it's the most prevalent current variation on the theme)

I loved it too, Mooseli. I don't need it to become a thing, but this thing is cool by me
