They were trapped 70 feet up, not for 70 hours.

Ahhh...apparently I don't know how to read...
Thanks for that point, zztzed.

But still...the point remains the same...imagine those circumstances...the luck!

And on the inflight movie thought...I wonder if they've ever showed Airplane! or Airplane II as an inflight movie.

I once took an overland bus from Puerto Plata to Santo Domingo in the D.R., and the on-bus movie was "Speed" (a.k.a. "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down"). Nobody else seemed to get a kick out of this. We almost died laughing when Keanu screamed: "THERE IS A BOMB ON THIS BUS!"

But what do you expect from the bus company that killed Falco?

I don't think that's allowed. I remember hearing somewhere that any references to planes crashing, or being in trouble (and in this case it being funny) is not allowed as an in flight movie. You can always bring a laptop and a DVD though :)

On a trip to Japan last spring, The inflight movie was Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous". A scene late in the movie (spoiler warning!) where all the characters are on a small plane that experiences some severe turbulence and nearly crashes was completely cut from the movie.

I don't know if there's a law about it or if its just a matter of courtesy, but the censorship happens. Understandable, but it sucks too, 'cause that was a pretty important scene.

The Art of Selection--In-Flight Movies: "Mark Smith chooses the in-flight movies for American Airlines...'Air Force One' would not be an appropriate movie to show on the main screen simply because there are customers that probably would have a real strong dislike for that kind of film while they're on the aircraft in-flight. We won't show a movie with an aircraft disaster in it."

Airplane itself contains a scene in which passengers watch an in-flight movie involving a plane crash.
