Matika Wilbur is journeying across the United States to record and share the essence of contemporary Native Culture with the world. There are at least 562 Tribal Nations recognized by the US Federal Government.

There are at least 562 Tribal Nations recognized by the US Federal Government.

I never heard Trudell described as "inexplicably intelligent" before, but that pretty much nails that elemental experience.

So is this series, thanks very much for pointing to it. 562 is a very large number, but barely hints at the complexity and astonishment in indian country.
