elizardbits, they're in Brooklyn! you should go there.

No because then I might have to interact with humans and I don't like that.

Oh god, the Twin Peaks log lady has switched to mammals.

Further detail from the article - this is actually being produced by North Shore Animal League, who are also offering all the cats seen in the video feed for adoption.

I asked for nose booping but no nose booping has happened, this is a terrible injustice.

I am completely freaked out by the porn elements, i.e., "tell us what to do". There must be a quid pro quo here somewhere.

elizardbits, I don't see your nose booping request, it may just take a while for the comments to catch up.

Are any of the cats wearing cat-sized versions of the Christmas sweaters worn by the people?

There's a gray kitten with a red sweater on the screen right now.

I just genuinely laughed out loud at "Meow Playing"; who have I become?

Also, why is it so fucking cute to watch a cat crawling over Christmas packages under a tree when you know in real life it is a nightmare pain-in-the-ass?

I am watching this now and the music is perfectly synched with the action. How do they do it??

*snerk* I learned early that when you have a cat, what you do is you get a whole package of little jingle bell things and you make ornaments out of them, and hang them on the lower branches.

Presto: Cat Intruder Alarm!

This will be our first Christmas with a real tree and cats in the same place, so I need to decide that if I'm going to steal that idea or if I have the kind of cats that take jingling bells as an invitation. (I think it might be that latter.)

And it is such a good thing this isn't in Chicago because I want to adopt them all.

Make sure to attach the tree to the ceiling as well as the floor. It doesn't solve all the problems, but it can help a lot.

I am leaving work early right now because I want to go see my cats and listen to Christmas music.

Just shared this to my knitting blog's Facebook page, because the only thing that gets the knitters who follow it more excited than anything cat and knitting related is a picture of a handsome male celebrity knitting. If Colin Firth or George Clooney were to appear on this show to knit and pet the cats I think they'd all expire with joy.

No, see, the jingling bells come paired with you running into the room with a squirt gun drawn and ready to fire or some other deterrent. That teaches them that jingling bell = water death from above and they stay clear or run out of the room themselves first.

Or, they get clever enough to aim for the higher branches, in which case if your cat is that clever you should just admit defeat and spring for ornaments made of paper and felt.

I had a friend whose Christmas was marked by the annual gentle tugging of tinsel from the end of the cat that had consumed it the day before.

The shelter I adopted latest Kitty from posted a FB pic of another adoptee seemingly IN a Xmas tree, with shiny old-fashioned tinsel strings hanging right in front of it. Waaaat? That’s not good.

My latest tactic to combat such behavior is aversion therapy, whereby when Kitty starts humping the tree or whatever it is she’s trying to do, I play a YouTube recording of a tornado siren.
