Until Sunday, 12th January, Paul Reubens, aka PeeWee Herman, has released the PeeWee's Playhouse Christmas Special on YouTube for free holiday viewing.
Includes the pre-Ingenue kd lang, those two crazy kids Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, Charo attempting to teach PeeWee some Spanish, The Del Rubio Triplets walking in a winter wonderland, and S. Epatha Merkerson accidentally delivering Grace Jones to the Playhouse instead of the White House.
And if you read this after the 12th, this previous post from 2011 has plenty of other YouTube links.

That guest star list has always amazed me. Sure, most are cameos, but this is the intersection of "famous people who Pee Wee thinks are cool" and the "people who think Pee Wee is cool" -- a remarkable group of people. Pee Wee had an amazing run there. I like that he's still around. Also, I totally agree with the Grace Jones comment - she's amazing.

This is a beloved classic in my family! We watch it every year multiple times, and always play it while we open gifts. I was taking video of my son when kd lang started singing- he was fascinated!

I bought us a Chromecast thing for xmas and since gbeer has a cold and I am just plain lazy, we are enjoying this on our TV tremendously! Thank you - I had forgotten just how weird this show was.

LOL the moment I saw "Feliz Naviblah" in my RSS feed, I knew immediately what this was. But I heard it as "Feliz Nabiblah." For decades, every time I heard someone say Feliz Navidad, I always heard Feliz Nabiblah in my head.
I had to double check who was in the White House in 1988, it was George HW Bush. I don't know what he'd do with Grace Jones.

Nope. It was Ronald Reagan. GHWB was elected in 1988, but he wasn't inaugurated until January 1989. But I don't know what Reagan would have done with Grace Jones, either. Maybe invited her to watch The Sound of Music with him or something like that.
