A lot of these remind me of the flehmen response, which is that squinchy open-mouthed ermahgerd face that cats make after sniffing something interesting. Our cat makes that face after sniffing his crotch, and I always snicker at him when he does it.

Apparently tigers also make that face, and it is hilarious.

The top picture is pretty much one of the default expressions of Chubby Cat (aka Moxie Parker).

@jamaro Augh! Your yawning cat has cow-mouth like mine does!

I've been completely unable to get a picture of it, but people don't believe me that my cat is secretly a heifer.

How do you say "Gesundheit" in cat?

Trick question. Cats don't give a shit about your health and would not wish you or it well.

We call that "stinky cat face". It's mentioned in the (amazingly cute and charming) Japanese comic What's Michael?, where the narrator says that anyone witnessing the reaction is doomed to die horribly. After someone off-panel throws something at his head, he says "I'm sorry, that's a lie"...

Our cat has chronic respiratory issues and has these crazy fits of sneezing a few times a day. He's healthy otherwise so we just live with it.

In other at-the-time-seemingly-unrelated news, I found a few yellowish-brown streaks on the wall in my last house and thought the kids were wiping their boogers on the wall, or maybe they were food stains of some kind. Then I saw more of the streaks in weird places and at weird heights (baseboards, etc.). Finally I noticed one on the wall above the kitchen cabinets where the cat liked to jump up and hang out. Suddenly I put it all together ... CAT BOOGERS! When it sank in, I started wandering around the house and noticing dozens, no maybe hundreds of these streaks in out-of-the way areas. Inside the linen closet (where the cat sits on a towel). Near the cat bed. Near his food bowl. Gross.

We've since moved and since I love the cat, I just periodically look for the streaks and wipe them off. They have to soak with soap and water for a while - they're like shellac. With my heightened awareness of this issue, I see that what he's doing is:

1. Sneeze to get snot out.
2. Shake head to fling snot onto wall. Or iPad screen. Or me.
3. Repeat 1 and 2 at one-second intervals (SNERF - SHAKE - SNERF - SHAKE ...) until snot is dislodged from nose.

Then there was the time recently when he had a nosebleed ...

I'm sorry if I have cast a pall on this adorable thread.

That was entirely more entertaining than I was expecting.

This morning, one of my cats kept trying to groom my other cat's butt. Groomed-cat would get annoyed and swat grooming-cat away. Grooming-cat kept emerging from the swatting with a thoughtful Flehman response. This happened at least three times in a row and made it impossible for me to keep a straight face.
