Yo, Richard Sherman, I'm real happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish, but Li Na at the Australian Open gives the best postmatch victory interviews of all time. OF ALL TIME.

That's like a Jennifer Lawrence level of awesomeness right there.

I love how she bags on her husband every time. So funny. For my fellow shoe freaks, I think she wore Air Max Breathe Free II's.

Every time Li Na the tennis player hits the news, I am taken back to drilling tones in Mandarin and the New Practical Chinese Reader. Yeah I know she's not a Brit named Natalie, but it's like Proust biting into that damn cookie.

A stronger contrast was her intrepid Canadian semi-final opponent Eugenie Bouchard, who when she won her quarter-final match (being only the second Canadian to ever reach the semi-final of a Grand Slam) was asked who in the world she would most like to date. For real.

She trolled the interviewer by saying Justin Beiber.

That's the least comprehensible sentence I've ever seen on Metafilter.

Can someone explain what they see in this that I'm missing? She thanked everybody, said something nice about her opponent, and said how happy she was. It's not a bad speech, but how was it special?

Bouchard wasn't trolling, she is a Bieber fan.

here is a good profile on Li.

Did you watch all the videos? She's making jokes about how her husband's snoring kept her up the night before the match, how he's being a good husband by fetching her drinks and such, and that he's lucky (jokingly) to have her. And she made the nasally snoring sound while she was telling the story. She was asked what made her be able to get up after not having great sleep, and she said "The Prize Money".

In one of the interviews she says how the next time she got a hotel room, she got a big room and (jokingly) put her snoring husband in the other room. She got asked about why her mom wasn't there and she told a story about how her mom stayed back in China saying "I have my life to lead" basically. They noted she was the first Chinese woman to win and she said something like "yeah, I try to be the first". She said a ton of funny stuff in the interviews and just seems like an awesome person. She's like a laugh a minute out there, after winning an athletic competition, it's great!

She is honest, forthright, and funny. I enjoyed the first interview the best. Her husband seems like a good natured person who smiled while being picked on.

She's hilarious. And her husband seems so sweet:)

I am glad for the sake of any watching chemists that she is not a swimmer.

It would freak them right out.

There is an Olympic gold winning diver named Li Na. She's known for her explosive jumps.

The article I read (I think it was USA Today but it was a couple days ago and I am not sure) claimed she is an amateur standup comedian in her copious free time.

Contrast this with her look back in China. Perhaps that's just taken at an inopportune moment, but I thought it was a brave and politically charged speech.
