Thank you so much for posting this. Nimoy reminds me so much of my grandfather who also spent his first couple of years in Boston but moved to Boyle Heights (in Los Angeles) with his family when he was still a young child. I've always wished I spoke Yiddish fluently, as both sets of my grandparents did. On the very long list of things I might do one day, it is there, the mamaloshn, waiting.

I don't want to say that Nimoy was responsible for me quitting smoking (day 18) but his tweet about COPD was pretty influential.

After thirty some years (I don't recall exactly when I first saw Star Trek, which I watched religiously with my father and older brother, but it was certainly in my single digits) I would not think Leonard Nimoy could still make me love him even more but there he goes.
