At first I thought it was the most glamorous thing I'd ever seen, but then I saw the women wearing high heels. Now all I can see are bloody, broken ankles. Ow.

A metaphor for their culture and economy.

I was really worried about that, too! Thankfully, you can see at the end of the video that when she lands she actually takes off her shoes and lands barefoot.

The most expensive article of clothing I own is a jacket that cost maybe eighty dollars, is almost ten years old, and was a gift. I get apprenhensive when I'm above the third floor.

This video alarmingly great fun.

Ow.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure she knows what she's doing: "...more than 7,000 skydives and won several awards and world records."

(and since it's edited by 14-year olds, wikipedia helpfully points out how many times she's jumped naked and topless, several times even so you don't miss it. cannot find any similar information about her partner Jeb Corliss.)

Italian models in high end clothing BASE jump from spectacular Monte Brento!

I am grateful there is at least one shot of an open chute.

Oh man that just looks like way too much fun, and I would love to try it. Especially if I looked that good doing it.

But then, I like bungee jumping, old wooden roller coasters, and camping alone without electronic gear.

Liked the tune too. Perfect wake-up video! Thanks!

"I am grateful there is at least one shot of an open chute."

Yeah at 0:47 the woman is picked up [jumps] into the arms of the man before they leap off of the cliff and he is wearing a four point and she has - a backpack - a couple of seconds later she seems to have misplaced her hair.

I'm amazed at the relaxed demeanor shown by the couple that jumps - with their backs to the ground - at 0:29 - they even manage a smile.

I guess this means my "I'm going to take hang-gliding lessons" days might be behind me.

Is camping alone without electronics an extreme sport now?

Proving once again that fashion is all about debasing women (and often men).

I know it's sort of the whole point but goddamn it makes it super uncomfortable how close they are to the cliff edge when they first jump off. Especially the ones who were doing somersaults!

Hey, that's my home town! At least once or twice a year a base jumper will go splat off that rock face, to the great joy of our emergency services.

Aw man, I was taking comfort in the fact that they must not be as close the the rock wall as they look, this can't be that stupidly dangerous.

"Is camping alone without electronics an extreme sport now?"

I'd say yes, if camping includes wearing a Versace evening gown.

I found this surprisingly disappointing. They show that woman in the fish-tail hemmed evening gown on land, but if she jumped in that dress, I didn't see it in the video. I wanted to see yards of flowing fabric moving around in the air and being manipulated by the jumpers. I felt like the fashion really added nothing at all to this video.

Basejumping videos are, in and of themselves, cool, so there was that, but it wasn't really any different than any other basejumping video I've seen.

I really liked this. I haven't ever seen anyone basejumping in a pencil skirt and stilettos before. And the angles were unusual for how you usually see fashion.

I'd love to see a Bond girl leave a mountaintop party this way.

BTW I most definitely camp in Versace. It's fun to cut firewood with a chainsaw while wearing designer chaps!

I was being facetious about the camping, but you might be surprised by the number of people who think it irregular to want to camp in the woods alone for weeks at a time, and swear it would never occur to them to do such a thing. ("Are you anticoscial or something?") And my young nephews have told me that spending a lengthy time without electronics or electricity in general is, to them, "pretty hard-core."

But I would still like to fly through the air in haute couture with a fabulous danceable beat playing all around me.

I see this and I realize that the only dangerous things I do are crossing the street and sometimes taking train station stairs two at a time without holding the handrail.

Oh and I also get out of bed in the morning.

Not being heavily schooled in contemporary BASE jumping equipment, my response when the lady hit the chute and went from Elegant Death Drop into Autonomous Hang Gliding Modality was "Screw the clothes, I have GOT to GET me ONE of THOSE!"
