For the Explore the North (Dutch) festival held in Ljouwert, Fryslân last year, British electronica group / video slingers Public Service Broadcasting was requested to make two songs/videos over the 1963 Elfstedentocht, perhaps the toughest edition of that tour ever held. Taking footage and voice overs from the Fries Film Archief, the results are Elfstedentocht part 1 and Elfstedentocht part 2 (English subtitles in the commentary section). Don't worry, there's a waiting list of several umpteen years before you can take part.
