"More in that disgusting Kerkorian divorce case: a cost breakdown at The Smoking Gun." -- (Elena Pauline)
And in related news...
Kirk kerkorian has put MGM on the auction block again and is expecting it to fetch $7 billion. Cash flow problems, no doubt?

I love the fact that the line item for doctors and prescriptions is actually the lowest monthly expense. And they claim to be spending $4,300/mo for groceries and an additional $5,920/mo for eating out - my God! What does a 36-year old woman and a 3-year old girl (plus friends) eat for over $10,000 a month?! Gold plated pizza? Thanks for the link. I'm flabbergasted.

staff meals probably come out of that; she notes that when eating out and going to the movies usually there are other friends and their nannies. but still....
I also wonder what the mother does all day.*everything* is taken care of, even the houseplants. two nannies for one three-year-old?????
love all that travel, too. 1/12 of all the trips they took last year....

Nada.
She has:
a cook,
a housekeeper,
a houseman,
a person for the indoor plants,
a gardener for the outdoor plants,
a pool person,
a repairman,
2 nannies
a household manager, which i can only assume oversees the other staff.
Remember when mom's used to wipe their own kids noses? Ahh, the good old days.

Alimony supposed to be for the kid, not for her. She should get about $1000.

If she is spending $10,000 a month on food for a kid she should be arrested and charged with child abuse. No wonder it has thousand dollar doctor's bills.

jerseygirl, rich women have always hired others to wipe their kids' noses. I assure you that moms (and, occasionally, dads) of more modest means still do the wiping themselves. And dydecker, alimony is, indeed, for the wife. Child support is for the kid. I pay one, not the other.

Oops, I mean child support. This is a child support suit. It looks like an alimony suit.

my comment was more of a quip about how Lisa Kerkorkian had hired a staff of folks to raise her child.
being the product of modest means, i know regular parents still wipe their own kids' noses.

Some years ago, working at a large bookstore in Atlanta, I acquired a stack of Art magazines with their covers removed. One of them had a feature about collectors - I think it was an annual roundup feature about the big collectors, what they were collecting, etc. Anyway, they had a two-page tabular format breakdown. One of the columns was 'Source of wealth', and about 20% of the collectors had 'Divorce' in this field. Gag me with a silver spoon.

She has $2500 down for Movies/Theatre. Why not just buy the damn theatre and be done with it?

"Other: Annual birthday party for Kira, holiday parties (including decorations) and play groups for Kira's friends (1/12)"

$14,000 per month ON PARTIES!
Explaining the medical costs: "We do not have insurance, so all visits are paid for in cash"
Well get some damn insurance!

And then compare all that excess, greed, sloth, and avarice with her supposed generosity: she contributes to her child's pre-school, and to some children's coaching organization... one that her child is, undoubtedly, involved in.
How gross. Someone should grab her ass and haul it off down to a soup kitchen, a children's hospital, a cancer ward, and a women's shelter. Then smoke the bitch upside the head with a clue-by-four.

Mm, my favorite has to be the $65/hour security guards (3), in addition to home security provided by two carriers . . . all for the 3-year-old. Talk about expensive rent-a-cops!

to be fair, her father is a billionaire or multimillionaire. I'm sure those security guards aren't just the mother's idea. and a child with parents that rich is a target for kidnappers, I guess....

This public divorce battle has to be killing Kirk Kerkorian -- he's a privacy nut of Howard Hughesian proportions. He never grants interviews and his companies are privately held and do not publish their phone numbers or addresses.
A few years ago for a newspaper column I tried to help a reader who wanted to write him a fan letter. When I called Kerkorian's Tracinda Corp., the holding company that owns a majority share in MGM Studios, it felt like I was calling the CIA. The employee who answered said, in a hushed voice, that telling someone their address was "not something we do."
As for the child support, Kerkorian was worth $5.7 billion in 1999. Why shouldn't his child and her mother get less than one tenth of one percent of that in yearly child support?

I have been trying to find a picture of Lisa (just to satisfy my curiousity) since hearing of this case, with no success. Anyone have a link?

"Kerkorian agreed to the marriage, but only on the condition that she agree to a divorce a month later, with no right to alimony." (last line of article)
What a magician! Any pictures of Lisa found? I'm still searching.
