Lots of explosions, car chases, and great lingerie. What's not to like?

So that whole scene in the elevator with Solange attacking Jay Z was just a scene they were filming for a movie, right?

That's their story and they're sticking to it.

No elevators were harmed

Shit. I'd watch that. And Cheadle took out a hit???

When that elevator video came out and no one had explanations yet, I fantasized that Jay had pulled some mafia and/or Illuminati strings to take a hit out on someone, Beyonce was complicit, and Solange was furious upon learning about it. This lends some credence to that theory.

Did they have to end it with Beyoncé singing "cliche cliche cliche"? Maybe they just know what we're thinking.

i thought it was fun. i also find it fascinating to put out this kind of money for tour promo, when the tour was going to sell out with or without this.

Dude know how to make a trailer.

Nas is still a better rapper, though.

Whenever I see Don Cheadle in badass mode, I weep a little inside for the Devil in a Blue Dress sequel that never was.

I can't understand why he doesn't have an Iron Patriot spin-off movie. Rhodey out front kicking ass, Stark in the rear supplying the gadgets and wit, it's a no-brainer.

I didn't think Beyonce would take bell hooks' comments about her literally.

I don't know how to feel about this. Oddly embarrassed by it at the moment. I love the megalomanic "movies" Puff Daddy Combs put out back in the day, but this feels more like an impressionistic ad for a fashion label (taken to 11) than a trailer for a movie, and it's obviously trying to be the latter.

It's self-mythologising in the extreme, but at the same time, for artists in their position, how much "higher" can they go without suspending disbelief completely?

On the other hand, they've had this whole Bonnie and Clyde thing going on for a while, so this entire thing would just be the pinnacle of that particular project.

It's just too much for me to appreciate, even ironically.

In case you haven't seen it, SNL "explained" The Elevator Incident between Solange Knowles and Jay-Z here.
