Jerry Bruckheimer Presents: Sept. 11, the movie He's done Pearl Harbor, which I guess makes this a natural next step. But will he wait until the earth cools at Ground Zero? And who'll play Osama? (Link via Dark Horizons)

Um, hello? The Onion already thought of this.

That Onion link was so not funny. Even now.

My apologies. The comment was intended to be funny, but came off as snarky. The thread about that issue of The Onion touches on too insensitive? vs. too hilarious? debate.

I'm with jennak, the Onion struck just the right bitter-ironic note. I'm not as viscerally angry now, but it still resonates.

But to be fair, the Bruckmeister didn't really have anything in the works, he was just speaking very hypothetically, should such a script circulate around H'wood, that he'd like a shot at making it. But he seems certain (and so would I be) that those scripts will not take long to start circulating and he'll have several choices.
