The Derek and Clive voices bit in Bowie and Eno's collaborative style turns out to be totally true.

Golden Years is one of his greatest ever tracks - a wondrous piece of inspired pop-funk and such a vocal tour de force that Colonel Tom Parker contacted Bowie and asked if he could write similar material for Elvis Presley.
What do you think Bowie said to that? I'd love to know.

A theoretical version of that cover is playing in my head right now, and the world is poorer for it not having been realised. Perhaps a whole album, with rockabilly versions of Rebel Rebel and Young Americans to boot. Ah, what treasures cheeseburger abuse robbed us of.

As with the animation previously linked here the audio for this comes from Adam Buxton’s radio show on David Bowie broadcast earlier this year (the Warszawa skit begins at 46:10).
