Very interesting, thank you Fizz. As Langkjær notes, the story is reminscent of Good Country People. and maybe even The Life You Save May Be Your Own.

Yeah her life was a struggle, but who could doubt that she was wicked funny. Until the like last page, "A Good Man is Hard to Find" is damn funny. I think my students think I"m slightly insane for loving it so much.
