I have to link to this one, as I'm always a sucker for videos involving nerf guns. I once got my two younger brothers a cleverly wrapped package of six Nerf N-Strike Mavericks for Christmas. Easily the best winter vacation ever.

The bit where he's pouring spaghetti sauce (or whatever that was) on the guy's face so that he can cough up blood was fantastic.

On the one hand, this is well made and looks like a ton of fun.
On the other hand, it seems like nerf guns have become somewhat... realistic since the last time I lusted after one. The point where they change the ammo clip on the rifle was kind of a wtf moment for me.

That's impressively amusing, the product placement vibe notwithstanding. Some might prefer the low-fi approach that Edgar Wright took in Spaced for its epic gunfight scene.

I was all set to share this on my Facebook until that last shot of "mum" and whoever else that was with her. Then all I could think was gamergate and tropes against women and...no. Nevermind. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of vitory. Win to fail in like three seconds.

I'm not sure how women appearing at the end and joining in the fun equates to tropes against women, but... okay?

They "join in the fun" by being Nerf-massacred by a bunch of guys (who were Nerf-dead just two seconds before?), rather than being shown on anything remotely like equal footing. It immediately sends the issue of "ha ha girls can't hang."
I realize the ladies involved might have relished the thought of acting out a gratuitous Nerf-death scene, but I really wish I'd seen a more even-handed choice there. Or some involvement of them from the beginning.

Uh, girls?
To me it looks like the moms come in to administer the pain for messing up the house, reveal themselves to be down with the nerfing and end up getting nerf-butchered. Good play on the real/unreal dichotomy, and what good is a toy gun if you can't use it against authority figures anyway?
I guess it could end with the guys moping up the floor at nerfpoint, but I don't see much wrong with the way it is.

Mom has a good part in the Game of Thrones one. She doesn't get a sword or anything but she's treated as a regular foe.

I know this is Mefi and all, but bean plate much? Lighten up. It was a harmless funny video. Personally, I think they needed nerf hand grenades, mortars, artillery, and bombers. Maybe even nerf ICBMs with MIRVs, although that might be a bit too much.
